Missionaries

We are excited that God is leading us into full time missions with Wycliffe Bible Translators.

Wycliffe's vision is to make God's Word accessible to all people in the language that best speaks to their heart. People in over 2,200 language groups, almost 200 million people, still have no Scripture in their language and Wycliffe's goal is to have Bible translation projects in the last languages begun by the year 2025.

We have been invited to serve at JAARS in Waxhaw, North Carolina. They are the technical services organization for Wycliffe Bible Translators, and over 50 Wycliffe partner organizations. Steve will be responsible for worldwide network security oversight for JAARS, as their Network Security Engineer. Glenda's initial focus will be settling the boys, Stephen (age 5) and Evan (age 3), and our household into our new location. Once settled she plans to investigate opportunities where God will use her at the JAARS center.

As missionaries for a faith organization, we are responsible for developing a team of ministry partners who will pray, contribute financially, and advocate for our ministry in their local areas. Lord willing, we will be moving to our assignment in the Summer (2009).

More information, pictures, videos about Wycliffe's work, and a form for subscribing to our email newsletter is available on our ministry Web site.

We love talking about this adventure so feel free to call or e-mail us if you want to know more. We appreciate your prayers as God brings us into this new phase of our life.

There are certain para-church organizations that the church needs that a church, no matter how big it got or how talented it got would never be able to do... I could get the smartest people we have [in our church of 6,000 people] and we're never going to be able to translate the Bible into some language of a people group. --Matt Chandler, Lead Pastor, The Village Church (From the Q&A with Chandler, Driscoll, and Chappell at Advance '09, beginning at minute 34:52 of the panel discussion)

Authority is not the same as influence. True influence, when accompanied by responsibility, is more desirable than authority. --Steve Moitozo II

Whatever religion or doctrine condones or makes allowances for sin...

Submitted by stephen on Sat, 2009-05-30 22:24.

"Whatever religion or doctrine condones or makes allowances for sin is not of Christ. The Doctrine of Christ everywhere teaches self-denial and mortification of worldliness and sin. The whole stream of the gospel runs against those things. Scripture emphasizes the 'holy' and the 'heavenly' (not the sinful and the worldly). The true gospel has not even the slightest tendency to extol corrupt nature, or feed its pride by magnifying its freedom and power. And it rejects everything that undermines or obscures the merit of Christ, or tries to give any credit to man, in any way. And it certainly never makes the death of Christ a cloak to cover sin, but rather it always speaks of it as an instrument that destroys it!" --John Flavel

Lord you are doing this to generate more glory for yourself, yet it is costing me my comfort. Nevertheless, let me rejoice! --Steve Moitozo II
