Steve Moitozo

Steve Moitozo has been a speaker at homeschool conferences in California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Saskatchewan, Vermont, West Virgina, and Washington. Steve has shared the speaking platform with Martin Luther King III,Gov. Joe Brennan (Maine), Congressman Jim Longley (Maine); and with homeschooling icons Dr. Raymond Moore, Chris Klicka, David & Mikki Colfax, John Taylor Gatto, John Saxon, Greg Harris, Pat Montgomery, Pat Farenga, Amanda Bennet, and numerous others.

Steve has worked with over 10,000 homeschooling families.

Steve writes, "I have spoken at local, regional and national homeschooling events for the better part of 2 decades. My greatest sadness has been that only the people at the events are learning the advantages of homeschooling -- the general public is clueless. The ones who need it most are not at these meetings -- they are struggling with the schools, their children, the rules, the budgets, the distractions -- and their families are suffering. I'd like to reach those parents and teach them that they have choices, one of which is homeschooling."

To that end, Steve and his former company,Homeschool Associates, produced the half-hour radio program "Education Today".This program was aired on 6 radio stations in Maine 5 times per week for 2 years. During that time, homeschooling in Maine became a mainstream option. It grew from 25 families to over 5,000 families registered to homeschool. Although Maine is a small state, in a short time all homeschoolers were able to take any class at their public school, they could play on the sports teams of their public high school, they could go on field trips with the public schools, and they could even earn their high school diplomas as homeschoolers from the public high schools! Steve's son was the first homeschooler to play varsity sports on a public school team.
